平安時代の貴族の乗り物であった御所車は、雅やかな宮廷文化を象徴するモチーフとして着物の図柄にも多く用いられてきました。
その周囲には牡丹や菊などの花々、扇の文様が重なり、祝いの場を思わせる華やかな景色を描いています。
